Traditional chairs often fail to provide their users with the supoort and fit needed to help them maintain proper posture. People come in different shapes and sizes, and traditional chairs do little to accommodate for them. For example, the angle of the pelvis is different for men and women (65 for men and 85 for women). Also, difference in weight is another significant consideration in determining the best means of providing chair support over a long period of use. After all, the average professional will spend approximately 6-7 hours a day seated in a chair that lacks proper support.
Problems that can arise from sitting without proper support for an extensive period of time: Pelvic misalignment that could result in spinal problems, Increased weight gain in the lower body, Twisted Spine, Migraines, and Hemorrhoidal inflamation
These problems can occur due to the improper distribution of upper body weight. When you sit on a chair, 50% of your body weight is focused on an 8% surface area around the hipbone. That is, your weight is focused on two points (one on each side of pelvis). Therefore, pelvic support is a vital concern in providing support.
The Hara chair was designed with those needs in mind.
The Hara chair:
- Has a revolutionary design in which its base is shaped specifically for the pelvis
- Uses data and measurements to tailor a proper fit with the human body
- Disperses the distribution of body pressure on a chair
- Adapts with body stance and movement to minimize stress.
The main innovation of the Harahair is its base, which has been divided into two adjustable pieces to give additional support to the pelvis.
